UNA-USA Dallas Gears Up For Its Annual UN Day Event, Honoring
the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights
DALLAS/FORT WORTH - Shabnam Modgil, president of UNA-USA Dallas, released the following statement on the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
"On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, UNA-USA Dallas will host its UN Day event in honor of the 70thanniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a day that the international community set to reflect on the Universal Declaration and to reaffirm the enduring principles and standards it has helped establish. Our UN Day theme, “Human Rights, Close to Home.”, will give us an opportunity to pay tribute to several North Texans who stand up for equality, justice, and human dignity - shifting the world onto a more sustainable and resilient path.
The event, which will take place at Southern Methodist University from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will feature a reception, keynote presentation, and awards ceremony. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and socialize with faith and community service groups, social justice organizations, community leaders, educators, legislators, as well as representatives from the United Nations and UNA-USA Dallas."
We hope that you will join us!
