It’s not often that one gets the chance to change the world, but that is precisely the situation Samantha Power found herself in. She went from working as a journalist criticizing U.S. foreign policy, to serving President Obama as the 28th U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations – the youngest person ever to serve in that role. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author will be discussing her new book, "The Education of an Idealist."

Ambassador Samantha Power was recently awarded the 2019 Daniel Patrick Moynihan Prize for social science and public policy. Currently, she’s -Anna Lindh Professor of the Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. She was heralded by President Barack Obama as one of America's "foremost thinkers on foreign policy." Called by Forbes “a powerful crusader for U.S foreign policy as well as human rights and democracy,” Power has been named one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential People” and one of Foreign Policy’s“Top 100 Global Thinkers
